Sculptra® is an injectable collagen stimulator that gradually improves facial wrinkles and lost firmness by encouraging your body to produce more of its own collagen. A traditional hyaluronic acid filler places gel beneath a line, but Sculptra’s poly-L-lactic acid formula works over time, helping the skin develop stronger underlying support. At Beautifully Well, founder and physician assistant Karen Safarik, PA-C, uses a conservative treatment philosophy centered on education and natural-looking changes. Dr. Leonard Tachmes, the practice’s medical director, is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has practiced in Miami since 1994. Their combined clinical oversight helps you receive careful, anatomy-based injectable care in a boutique setting.
What Is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible material that stimulates collagen production within the treated tissue. It’s FDA-approved for correcting shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region, and other facial wrinkles in people with healthy immune systems.
The fullness visible immediately after treatment is partly caused by the sterile water used to prepare the product. That initial effect settles as the water is absorbed. Your longer-term improvement develops gradually as new collagen forms beneath the skin.
What Can Sculptra® Improve?
Sculptra® can be useful when facial aging appears as a broad loss of firmness rather than one isolated line. Based on your facial anatomy and treatment goals, it may help improve:
- Fine lines and wrinkles across the cheeks
- Nasolabial folds around the nose and mouth
- Marionette lines extending toward the chin
- Reduced firmness in the cheek region
- Other facial wrinkles associated with collagen loss
Karen will review your medical history, skin quality, facial proportions, and previous injectable treatments before deciding if Sculptra® belongs in your care plan.
What Happens During a Sculptra® Appointment?
Your visit begins with a detailed facial assessment and a conversation about the changes you’d like to see. Karen then places Sculptra® in selected areas using injection techniques based on your anatomy. The number of vials and appointments varies from person to person.
Many treatment plans involve two or three sessions completed over several months. Appointments are commonly spaced at least three to four weeks apart so the tissue has time to respond. Results may become visible as early as one month and continue developing gradually as collagen production increases.
What Is Sculptra® Recovery Like?
Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, itching, or small lumps can occur near the injection sites. Delayed lumps have also been reported. Karen will give you aftercare instructions based on the areas treated and your individual needs.
Sculptra’s manufacturer commonly recommends the 5-5-5 massage method. This means massaging the treated areas for five minutes, five times a day, for five days. Results can last up to two years. Karen can determine if additional treatment is appropriate as your results change over time.
Why Choose Beautifully Well for Sculptra® in Miami Beach?
Sculptra® requires a strong understanding of facial anatomy, product placement, and gradual collagen stimulation. Karen uses conservative dosing and careful placement to support your natural features rather than create a uniform or overfilled appearance. She’ll also explain the expected timeline so you know why Sculptra® results don’t appear all at once.
Beautifully Well combines Karen’s experience as a physician assistant with medical direction from Dr. Tachmes, a board-certified plastic surgeon. This structure supports careful screening, honest treatment recommendations, and medical oversight in a private Miami Beach setting.
